You will survive, and you are built to rise.

Resilience coaching is for people rebuilding after a medical diagnosis, a disability, chronic illness, loss, divorce, setback, or any life change that proves to be one of life's hardest challenge.

Chaundra McGill is a resilience coach, survivor, and your disabled bestie. I help you get steady, make sense of what happened, and build a life that feels like yours again.

What Resilience Coaching Does For You

When life falls apart, most people get help with the crisis itself: the doctors, the paperwork, the arrangements. Almost nobody helps with what comes after. That means the fear, the exhaustion, the "Who am I now?", and the feeling that everyone else has moved on while you're still trying to find your footing.

Resilience coaching fills that gap. Together, we turn the hardest chapter of your life into a plan that you can follow, one step at a time, with someone in your corner who has been there.

Where You Are vs. Where You'll Be

Surviving Day to Day vs. Steady Ground

You stop living in reaction to what happened, without it running your life.

"Why Me?" vs. A Story You Can Live With

You make sense of what happened, without it running your life.

Lost vs. Knowing Who You Are Again
You rebuild an identity that isn't designed by the diagnosis, loss, or crisis.

Stuck vs. A Clear Next Step

You leave with a plan for moving forward, and a method for the next hard season when it comes.

Coaching works alongside therapy and medical care, not in the place of them. It focuses on one question: where do you go from here?

About Chaundra & the Framework

Hi, I'm Chaundra McGill or, as most people know me, your disabled bestie.

I'm a resilience coach who helps people cope with and navigate their way through life's hardest chapters. I do this work because I've studied resilience and because I've lived every bit of it myself. I know two things for certain: you will survive, and you're built to rise.

My own journey is the reason any of this matters to me. I've come through brain surgery and a stroke. I've faced multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow, along with uterine fibroids. I live with a generalized chronic pain condition, I have a rod in my back, and I've had a left knee replacement. Any one of these could be its own story, but together, they're the reason I know something about surviving, rebuilding, and rising anyway.

I'm also the author of the You Will Survive e-workbook series, step-by-step guides built from what I've lived through and learned. When I'm not writing or advocating, you'll find me on camera. I'm the host of My So-Called Disabled Life, my YouTube channel where I bring the same honesty, humor, and hope to the everyday realities of living disabled — because nobody should have to do this alone.

Whether you’re navigating a personal health crisis or managing a major life shift, our framework provides the emotional and strategic tools to find clarity. We focus on rebuilding not just your routine, but your perspective on what is possible after life changes.

The Built to Rise Framework

Resilience isn't something you either have it or don't. It's a set of skills anyone can build, one step at a time. Built to Rise is my four-stage framework for getting through life's hardest chapters. It's shaped by resilience research and by everything I've survived myself.
